Pre Production 2/ LOCATION PLANNING

Pre Production

we decided to recast as some cast members were unavailable to attend to shooting.

Our bully changed from Issa to AJ as we found out that we were not allowed to use our Media Group Students in our movie as main cast.

Continued in FOCUS GROUP.

Location Planning
Maths Classroom: This is where we will meet our main character, Drew played by AJ. he will be 'told off' by the math teacher, leaving in an upset state of mind
Main Corridor: We will follow our main character through this corridor once he leaves Maths all frustrated and 'upset'
Cafeteria: The first location where the protagonist will encounter the victim who has supposedly angered Drew
Courtyard: This will be where Drew and Billy will be face to face in a threatening encounter. Leaving Billy scared, and Drew slightly satisfied. So we think.

FOCUS GROUP SESSIONS

FOCUS GROUP WORK             Working with Nabil We decided to go along the path of action/thriller/horror movies, as we were both very into this type of genre. Our main target audience would be males, due to the fact that majority of males prefer these genres compared to romance movies. We then proceeded to look at examples online, to gather ideas and inspiration to create our own thriller/ action. YouTube- AS A grade movies. Looking around on the Internet we came across various movie openings made by various other students around the world, and grasped a better understanding of what it was that we are meant to do. Analysing the openings we also were able to achieve/brainstorm most of what we plan to do for our own movie. Possible fighting Stranded in a desert First option as we live in a sand filled country Seeking help Running away from something/someone On the weekend I went to the cinema to wat...

Art Film An art film is typically a serious, independent film, these are aimed at a niche market, instead of a mass market audience like Marvel Cinematic Universe would. Art films are generally serious artistic work which is never really aimed at the mass market. This is because they are quite experimental and primarily made to be aesthetically pleasing rather than for commercial profit purposes. They portray high symbolic content and nothing mainstream, thus casting a sense of social realism. Opening Sequence We decided to research and analyse various opening sequences online. First we looked at an action opening as our first choice (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMQR_pPHOWg). We then decided to watch a movie called, 'cyber bully'. We found this movie quite appealing and decided to go along the path of bullying. BUT we wanted to portray our opening from the bullies point of view as we noticed majority of movies are always focusing on the victim. Product...

Dead Man's Shoe Scene Analysis

In lesson, we watched a 3-minute clip of dead man’s shoe, and straight away we see a lot of confrontation. We learn that there is something about to arise from what took place in what looks briefly looked like a mental hospital though it could also be a wreck centre as there was a Snooker table. As it starts off, it seems very grey and bright at the same time. During the time in this hall a man in a green jacket is seen staring at a dodgy male in a beanie. It seems that they must have been either betting or dealing, as we see an exchange of money take place between two men. As the clip progresses the male in the beanie confront the man in the green jacket in a vulgar manor. We now learn that these men are in fact British, we learn this from their accent. The man in the green jacket replies twice as vulgar, supposedly scaring of the man who confronted him. At 50 seconds, we see the same man in the green jacket standing outside with his friend as we watch on a small car flies ...
